Troubleshooting Common Server Issues on ARXD Hosting

Experiencing issues with your service? Whether it's a game server, web hosting, or a bot node, here's how to quickly diagnose and resolve the most common problems.

Step 1: Check Server Status

Before anything else, visit our Network Status Page →
If your node or service is listed as offline or degraded, we're likely already working on it.

Step 2: Is the Server Running?

For game servers, Discord bots, and web services, check your control panel:

Common Fixes:

  • If the server is stopped, click Start

  • If it’s unresponsive, click Restart or Reinstall (only if you’re sure)

Step 3: Console Logs

Game and bot servers show real-time output in the console.
Look for:

  • Port binding errors

  • Java or startup crashes

  • Plugin/mod load failures

Visit your service's console tab in the Panel.

Step 4: Configuration Errors

Misconfigured files can stop your service from booting.

Game Servers:

  • Check server.properties, config.yml, server.cfg, etc.

  • Use only supported mods/plugins for your server type

Bot Hosting:

  • Ensure your bot token, intents, and environment variables are correct

Web Hosting:

  • Fix .htaccess, index.php, or permission errors via Plesk File Manager

Step 5: Firewall or Port Issues

Your server’s assigned port is listed under “Network” in your panel.
Make sure:

  • You're connecting with the correct IP and port

  • There are no client-side firewall blocks

  • The game client matches the server version

Some ports (like 25565 for Minecraft) may be used for subdomains. You can request a custom subdomain via support if needed.

Step 6: Reset or Reinstall

Still stuck? You can:

  • Reset your server: Clears all files except your backups

  • Reinstall server: Completely wipes and reinstalls from the selected egg/template

⚠ Always download your backups first! Lost data from reinstallations is unrecoverable.

Restore from Backup

You can restore your server to a previous backup:

  1. Go to your panel

  2. Click Backups

  3. Choose the date

  4. Click Restore

See Full Backup/Restore Guide →

???? Step 7: Check for Scheduled Maintenance

Sometimes services are briefly unavailable due to:

  • OS updates

  • Node migrations

  • Security patching

These are always posted on:
https://status.arxdhosting.org

Step 8: Ask Support

If none of the above help, contact us directly. Please include:

  • Your Service ID or domain

  • What you've already tried

  • Any screenshots or error logs
